As they feed, plants begin to wilt, collapse or fail to thrive, often with no visible cause above ground. Particularly damaging to potted plants and strawberries, these cream-coloured, C-shaped larvae can quickly kill plants if left untreated.

How to Control Vine Weevils

Agralan Vine Weevil Nematodes provide an effective, natural solution that works even in cooler conditions. These beneficial nematodes actively seek out vine weevil larvae in the soil, entering their bodies and releasing bacteria that stop them from feeding and lead to their death. The nematodes then multiply within the larvae, helping to spread control throughout the compost or soil. This chemical-free method is safe for use around pets, wildlife and edible plants.

How to Use Nematodes

Supplied as an easy-to-mix powder, dilute the nematodes with water and apply to moist compost or soil using a watering can. This low-temperature formulation can be used when soil temperatures are as low as 5°C, making it ideal for early spring and late autumn treatments. An autumn application is typically the most effective, with a follow-up treatment in spring recommended for ongoing control. Keep the soil moist before and after application to help the nematodes move and work effectively.
