Sanguinaria canadensis (Canada Puccoon) Rhizomes

Sanguinaria canadensis bulbs, commonly called bloodroot, produce a breath-taking plant. The plant features round, lobed green leaves and long, thin, red stems that support a gorgeous flower. The flower, pure white in colour, has 8-16 slender petals and is accented by bright yellow anthers at its centre.

Sanguinaria canadensis thrives in a moist, well-drained soil with exposure to full sun or partial shade. This hardy plant easily spreads and is ideal for naturalizing an area. It is also a favourite among pollinators, such as bees.
