Wisteria floribunda 'Macrobotrys'

This wisteria variety known as 'Macrobotrys' is distinguished for its exceptionally long racemes, reaching up to 100cm in length. The fragrant flowers, ranging from white to pale mauve and violet, adorn the open racemes. The foliage starts off a pale green before maturing into a dark green. It is a deciduous plant and is not as vigorous as other wisteria species. Ideal for arches and pergolas, as well as large walls where you desire the cascading effect of the blooms. 'Macrobotrys' has been awarded the AGM by the RHS.
